Haha, I tend to act like a raging fangirl, so it's slightly surreal remembering seeing the RDJ!Holmes movie posters with nary a blink whereas now I squeal whenever I see a deerstalker, heh. (I'm ashamed to say I still haven't seen either of the movies, I really must get on to that sometime soon.)
Part of the reason I like Elementary a lot is because Sherlock seems to be on better terms with Gregson- Sherlock seems to be a bit more open with his expressions of sentiment, and Gregson comes off as more of a paternal figure to him than BBC!Lestrade does for his respective Holmes. (Elementary!Lestrade, though... won't get into that right now.) I didn't quite mind the animosity between BBC!Sherlock and his Yarders because it helped amplify the 'Sherlock Holmes is a bit of a dick' character trait and also because it was important to the plot.
Haha, yes, I enjoyed the parallel between Sherlock and Lestrade regarding their respective addictions- and Joan's line was gold: "Welcome to the world of caring about an addict."
I think that this season might have a sub plot of 'Sherlock helps Lestrade with his addiction so Lestrade and stop using Sherlock as a crutch and be a good DI in his own right' to parallel with Joan helping Sherlock out in S1 (which culminated with the whole Irene/Moriarty fiasco, so...I wonder what the big finale will be this season? It's probably too early to spectulate, but I like to wonder~).
